If a Copysafe service is found to still be running or listed as running even after uninstall, first check for other ArtistScope programs that may be installed  because some commonly used resources may be shared by other ArtistScope programs, in which case they should not be removed because dependency is still required.

Please note that some ArtistScope programs may be using a different brand name as some of our agents and customers distribute our software with custom branding. However their file properties should always indicate ArtistScope as the Copyright owner.

However if after ensuring that the resource is not required (no other ArtistScope programs installed) and entries still appear such as CSHelper being listed as a running service, you may need do a registry clean. Then if it still appears try manually deleting it from the System32 folder. On Vista you may need admin permissions and if all else fails, restart the computer in safe mode (F8) and manually delete it.

Why do things like this happen? Thanks to Microsoft meddling with a user's right to access their own computer, plus the intervention of anti-virus and security programs which are not even sure if they have the right to run or not, plus not clicking ok to prompts about completing an action, a lot of simple operations can be impeded preventing the proper operation of a lot of software functions including simple installs and uninstalls.

To remove the CSHELPER service:
- delete CSHELPER.exe
- delete CsInstr.dll
- delete SetupHelper.dll
- run a registry clean

If CShelper still appears as a running service, try unregistering it by using the regsvr32 command:

regsvr32 /u C:\WINDOWS\system32\SetupHelper.dll

You may need to do this 2-3 times in a row, depending on how many times you have installed the software.
